Welcome to the website of the Royal Australian Air Force Staff College Association Inc, which aims to share news and useful information with Association members.
New members are always very welcome. Membership of the Association is open to graduates and directing staff of the RAAF Staff College, Air Force graduates and directing staff of the Joint Services Staff College, overseas national Service Colleges and Staff Colleges, and the Australian Defence College’s Weston Creek campus. Please submit the RAAF Staff College Association membership form by post or email to the Secretary via the addresses shown on the form.
RAAF Staff College Association members and their guests meet three times annually for a luncheon seminar at the Royal Canberra Golf Club.
Details for the final 2019 seminar are as follows:
Friday 11 October: The Hon Dr Brendan Nelson, AO – Director of the Australian War Memorial – one of his final public appearances before his recently announced retirement from the AWM. Further details are contained in the August 2019 edition of DS. Lunch will be preceded by a very brief annual general meeting commencing at 1200 pm. Please nominate for the lunch via the attached form.
(This lunch has been scheduled to align with the 37th annual retired officers dinner to be held Saturday, 12 October 2019 at the Canberra Southern Cross Club.)
28 August 2019: 2019 Sir James Rowland Seminar – Australian Aviation Culture and the enduring Air-minded approach to Air Power (Adams Auditorium, Australian Defence Force Academy, Northcott Drive, Campbell) – draft program
11 November 2019: Lest We Forget – A Dedication Church of St Andrews, FORREST. Canberra Wind Symphony’s annual dedication to all who have served in uniform. The Symphony is run by Geoff Grey, CSM (Major, Ret’d), a former head of the RMC Band. Geoff Grey is involved with supporting veterans, a number of whom participated in last year’s remembrance concert. Book tickets
